Temple Pizza is the restaurant owned and operated by Matere Songgaard and Betel Longshrew Piper. It is located in the Tenderloin District near Post and Leavenworth streets in San Francisco, California. Frederick Munchen is an employee of Temple Pizza as a prep chef and delivery person.
Fredrick and Jillian Outside of Temple Pizza
Opal Fremmitty is a customer of Temple Pizza, often purchasing her sustenance from the small restaurant. Fredrick Munchen first met Opal when he delivered a pizza to her apartment in nearby Chinatown.
Temple Pizza is the planning center for Matere and Betel. Fredrick often returns to Temple Pizza on his quest to discover the mystery surrounding Opal Fremmity.
The walk to Gendarme Apartments on Sutter St. was a short two blocks from Temple Pizza where Fredrick had his bill-paying job. The dark, late-night streets were often crowded with odd assortments of people. Fredrick looked forward and kept his head down as he trudged along the broken, dirty sidewalks, wincing at the occasional smell of old beer and urine that would waft along the streets in light gusts from some dark, abandoned side alleys.[1]
