Slipshot is an original science fiction novel series written by Aibo and illustrated by Ryan Sunada-Wong and Gabriel Juarez. Vol 1.0 was published in 2023.
Synopsis[]
Something’s not quite right in San Francisco. Phantom-like machines called Vérkatrae crawl through the city streets, laser-wielding combatants duel in broad daylight, and people fall out of black holes in the sky. Even stranger, Frederick, a young college student living in San Francisco's Tenderloin district, seems to be the only person who can see these outlandish occurrences.

Meanwhile, Opal Fremmity, an extraterrestrial Mechanic Class Slave hailing from the Griddish Realm, has been tasked with carrying out Earth's apocalyptic final dismantlement project. Her home realm is bound to Earth by a powerful technology known as The Slipshot, and her journey to Earth is merely the beginning of a far-reaching project eons in the making. When Frederick meets Opal and learns of his planet’s dark fate, it quickly becomes clear that he may be the only person capable of severing Griddish’s connection to Earth and helping Mechanic Class Slaves like Opal stand up against their oppressors.
Characters[]
The characters of Slipshot fall into two main categories: Varlings and Griddishians. Varlings originate on one of a near infinite number of Vars. In the world of Slipshot they are Var 7 and Var 8, also known as Farth and its twin version Earth. Griddishians originate on a disk-shaped, domed place called Griddish. Within Griddish, there are Slaves, Engineers, and Vérkatrae

The Slipshot
In Slipshot, the technology of Griddish drives its relationship with the Vars. Most notable is the Slipshot, which binds the Vars to Griddish as children to its parents. In the Slipshot series, it is this technology which establishes the interaction of Varlings to Griddishians.
Over eons, Griddish developed other technology that was used to manage the Vars. Among there are:
- Capsa Ungere: A device that opens a Slipshot portal from a Var to Griddish.
- Init Caster: Initializes a device on the Tenddrome.
- Perispike: Establishes a barrier or a dome creates a temporal alignment of a Var to Griddish.
- Vérkatrae: Possibly intelligent machines that assist Mechanic Class Slaves in managing the Vars, including dismantlement projects.
- The Tenddrome: The network that joins all Slaves to each other as nodes.
Notable Places[]
In Slipshot, the world consists to two places: Griddish and Vars 7 and 8, also knows respectively are Farth its twin Earth.
